Who should join LARG?

Amazonian languages mapLARG is a group of experts who share an interest in LADO (Language Analysis for the Determination of Origin) as a research topic, or from a practitioner's point of view, or both.

LARG seeks collaboration among academics, practitioners, lawyers, qualified linguists, (I)NGOs, government bureau representatives, and anyone else with an interest in responsible, valid and scholarly practices in LADO. Experts connected to LARG collaborate in the interest of contributing to the quality of work in this area.

Member activities

Members participate in and propose LARG events, publish and access archived documents, consult each other on research proposals and practice developments, and engage in online discussion. An important function of membership is to report to LARG concerning developments and resources in their own field of activity.

Membership

Membership of LARG is open to people from diverse fields and disciplines who demonstrate a specific involvement with LADO issues that may lead to research or improved practice, and who endorse the primary mission of LARG. Please apply to the Convenors (who will consult the Advisory Panel if in doubt).

Applicants who do not fulfill the conditions may be added to mailing lists for announcements of new developments and activities, participate in public areas of the website, and attend public events organised by the Research Group. Membership is not restricted geographically or by occupation. LARG seeks to have active members wherever LADO is practiced or researched, including the full range of institutional contexts.

A small membership fee provides funds to support the website and information dissemination activities of LARG. Please contact the Convenors for more information about LARG, to apply for membership, or to offer your contribution to LARG's primary mission.
