Arrival
Your graduation ceremony will be held in the Ivor Crewe Lecture Hall.
The Hall opens 45 minutes before the ceremony starts. Students and guests need
to be seated 20 minutes before the start time. The doors will close 15 minutes before the ceremony begins and will re-open ten minutes after the ceremony’s advertised starting time.
Stewards will be on duty at all times to help and advise you. An enquiry desk
will be situated in the Lecture Theatre Building (LTB), room 6.
Parking in the University car parks is free in Graduation week.

Travelling to our Colchester Campus
Disabled parking facilities
The Colchester Campus and buildings are better suited to physical access than
most. For those with mobility problems, almost every part of the University can
be reached by flat access, lift or ramp. For further information on access and
parking arrangements, please contact our Security Office in advance of your
visit:

Gown collection
All academic robes will be available for collection from LTB 7 on the day of
your graduation ceremony. Your gown will be available to collect 1-2 hours
before your ceremony.
Please also remember to return your gown after the
ceremony to LTB 2.

Ticket collection
You will be able to collect your tickets from LTB 6 on the day of your
graduation 1-2 hours before your ceremony.
Bring/show confirmation of your booking
Please bring/show (in hard copy or on your device) the email confirmation you
received when you booked your place and if you purchased any guest tickets. Also
bring your Student Registration/Library card, or some form of photo ID. Any
paperwork or emails you have received from the gown company or photographer
should also be brought. We can then check to see what you have ordered if
necessary.

Facilities for students and guests
Ivor Crewe Lecture Hall
There will be a staffed cloakroom on the ground level of the Hall for you to
leave your coat and belongings while you're at the ceremony.
Catering
Our catering outlets on campus will be open during Graduation.
In addition there will be a variety of refreshments available in the squares -
from BBQs and ice cream to waffles and strawberries.

Absence from the ceremony
Your degree will be conferred 'in absentia' and your certificate will be
posted to your permanent home address during August. You will not be invited to
a subsequent ceremony. Please note that it is very important that you keep your
permanent home address and external email address up to date via myEssex.
