Overview | This online session will discuss what research ethics is and why it is important, and it will provide guidance and support to help researchers identify whether their research will require an ethics review and if so, which would be the appropriate ethics review body.
Core topics will be covered which researchers will need to consider when completing their application for ethical approval form, a requirement when conducting research involving human participants, their data or samples. These include informed consent; identifying potential risks associated with research; handling research data.
The session is for researchers in the early stages of their careers, such as newly appointed lecturers, post-docs, and PhD students, who plan to make an application for ethical approval. It is focused on helping researchers understand how to develop a good ethics application and to obtain ethical approval as quickly and easily as possible. |
