OverviewThis webinar will provide an overview of Round 10 of the AMS Springboard Awards, and include a Q&A session. It is aimed at eligible potential candidates who are specifically interested in finding out about applying to Round 10. The event will be led by Konstantina Zougkou, Research Development Manager for Science and Health, and will include contributions from successful applicants from previous rounds. Scheme overview Springboard offers a bespoke package of support to biomedical researchers at the start of their first independent research post to help launch their research careers. This includes funding of up to £125,000 over two years and access to the Academy’s acclaimed mentoring and career development programme. Details for round 10 are yet to be released by AMS, but brief details for round 9 (2023) follow: to be eligible for the awards, and the webinar, candidates must: Hold an academic post that incorporates research. Be in their first independent (salaried) position and Be within five years (FTE) of appointment to this position Have sufficient time remaining in their current post to complete the proposed Springboard project Candidates must not: Hold a clinical contract Be in receipt of substantial research funding as the Principal or Co-Investigator exceeding £150,000 for the two year Springboard award duration - subject to change, once full details are released. The University can only submit a limited number of applications; therefore, there will be an internal sift. This will be described during the webinar. Please note: This is not suitable for students. This is not suitable for postdoctoral researchers, unless they will start on an eligible position and be in post by the Panel date at the latest. (For round 11, the latest eligible appointment start date is yet TBC; for round 10 {deadline 5 June 2024}, it was 14 November 2024.)
