TitleEducation Insights- Getting Started with Blended Learning

OverviewThis session will look at strategies to develop blended learning approaches to your module design. The session will briefly review the literature on Blended Learning and the options available to blend your modules on a sound pedagogic basis to create a stimulating and engaging learning environment. The session will offer you the opportunity to implementing some Blended Learning strategies and the resources available at Essex to support you. The session will also provide you with the pedagogic basis to support your CADENZA application/ PG CHEP portfolio to become a HEA Fellow mainly under D2/ D3 descriptors. It maps to the following UKPSF Areas of Activities: A1/ A2/ A3/ A4/ A5 Learning outcomes By the end of the session, participants will have: 1. Understanding of the principles and benefits of Blended Learning vis-à-vis traditional module designs; 2. Understanding of the process of applying Blended Learning in modules; 3. Have the opportunity to discuss innovative applications of Blended Learning in your modules; 4. Have the opportunity to share your experience and practice on Blended Learning with peers. Who should attend? Mixed audience of academic staff who are relatively new to teaching in HE and those who are more experienced and wish to develop their skills in this area. GTAs are encouraged to join this session. Please note this session will be delivered via zoom.
