OverviewVirtual and in-person sessions are available for this course. Please check when booking. Virtual sessions will be delivered via Zoom. This training is delivered on a Windows machine using the latest version of Excel from the Microsoft Office 365 suite. Participants wanting to follow along, should make sure they have the software installed before the session starts. Essex members can find instructions for downloading the software for free onto your personal device at: https://www.essex.ac.uk/staff/it-services/microsoft-office-365 OUTLINE The aim of this session is to help you prepare your data for analysis, and effectively extract important information from large spreadsheets. Focusing on how to clean, organise and analyse large amounts of data using Excel’s tools, features and functions, this session will include: • Arranging data ready for analysis • Cleaning up data, including duplicates and stray values • Sorting and filtering data • Using new features like Power Query and dynamic arrays • Using IF functions and PivotTables for basic analysis • Basic concepts of data analysis If spaces are available, please click on the white space below.
