| Overview | This workshop will help researchers to proactively plan ways to apply their research and expertise to public policy, exploring how to engage directly with policymakers and play a part in policy debates. The session is being run by Showrunner Communications - a consultancy that specialises in helping researchers to engage influentially with UK policymakers. Showrunner’s Director, Mark Fuller, will facilitate the session, drawing on 20 years’ experience of working in policy, including advising an MP, at influential think tanks and as a senior lobbyist in a number of major industries.
The session will look at:
1. Ways of building a working familiarity with the relevant policy context Horizon scanning;
2. How to translate research interests and evidence into an overarching ‘policy narrative’;
3. Identifying the right stakeholders and the most effective routes to engage them. |
