Overview | This course is for any employee assigned the role of a Fire Marshal for a department or team. The training session will help explain how fire can be caused and spread, delegates will gain an understanding of what can be done to reduce the risk of a fire starting e.g. sterile areas, electrical management, and control of the use of smoking materials. The Fire Marshal role is explained, with clear instruction given as to where their role starts and finishes. Topics covered within the course also include University rules for Fire Safety, what to do in the event of an emergency and what to do if you see or believe there is a fire. |
Learning outcomes | - Able to assist the security team and Essex Fire and Rescue in the safe evacuation and orderly re-entry of the buildings.
- Aware of procedures to follow in the case of an emergency.
- Know how to help in the prevention of fire and act as an ambassador for fire safety in their areas and beyond.
