Overview | This four-day training programme explores the role of a manager at Essex and provides an opportunity to develop your knowledge on the different aspects of the first line management role. The programme has been designed for new managers, who have had not had any formal training and are new to the role of first line management.
If you have any further questions about the programme or would like support with an individual learning need, please don’t hesitate to contact develop@essex.ac.uk prior to session to enable the trainer to support you as best as possible.
Please note this programme includes multiple dates and you are required to attend all sessions. The training is delivered as a face-to-face programme.
Outcomes:
Day 1 -
Understanding the role of management and situational leadership to motivate and support employees.
Day 2 -
Understanding solution-oriented risk management and recruitment essentials.
Day 3 -
Managing Absence and holding effective performance reviews.
Day 4 -
Managing difficult conversations and developing a cohesive team.

If attending this event falls outside of your usual working hours, and you incur additional costs due to caring responsibilities, you may be able to claim towards this.
