| Title | Panel Insights: UKRI – Sharing Experiences Across Research Councils - AHRC, EPSRC, ESRC, NERC |
| Category | Research |
| Overview | Panel Insights’ is a new series of in-person workshops inviting Essex colleagues with experience on research funding and selection panels to share their insights.
The next workshop brings together academics from the humanities, social sciences and the sciences who have recent experience on UKRI standard grant panels to explore the on-going challenges associated with UKRI ‘standard grant’ funding.
With competition for research council funding at an all-time high, the session provides an opportunity to better understand what differentiates highly ranked applications, compare experiences across research council panels and identify practical strategies for improving success rates across disciplines.
Presenters will share their recent experiences of navigating the Funding Service proposal format as grant panel members.
The session will cover:
How panel members apply the assessment criteria across the disciplines
Reflections on panel dynamics and how this influences funding decisions
Addressing EDI and R4RI
How to strengthen your proposal and avoid common pitfalls |
