Title | Research Ethics Workshop |
Category | Research |
Overview | This online workshop aims to raise awareness of good research practice and to illustrate complexities which can occur in research to help researchers reflect on and embed best practice within their own research context.
Research ethics case studies will be used which illustrate recurring or important and topical issues (for example, informed consent; conducting sensitive interviews; social media research; confidentiality; research with children and young people) which cut across all subjects and are suitable for researchers in the early stages of their careers, such as newly appointed lecturers, post-docs, and PhD students.
Questions for discussion accompany each case study which serve as a starting point for discussion and reflection on the main themes of the case study.
Please note that you should complete the short self-paced course Research Involving Human Participants that provides an overview of the principles, responsibilities and importance of research ethics before attending the workshop.
* Please contact Research and Enterprise Office, Research Governance and Planning for further information regarding the Research Involving Human Participants course. |
