News and entertainment constantly feature crime and punishment stories - mainly about men. When women do feature it is often in ways that perpetuate myths and stereotypes.

Every year millions of women are victims of intimate and sexual violence and every three days one woman is killed by a current or former partner, yet such occurrences are treated less seriously than other violent crimes. The latest research throws light on vulnerable women as victims and offenders.

This event is part of the national ESRC Festival of Social Science.
