Head of Department Professor Michael Roper's research on the use of letters sent home by soldiers in WWI to explore their experiences of warfare featured on Radio 4's Thinking Allowed on the 9th of September whilst his new book on the subject (The Secret Battle: Emotional Survival in the Great War) was reviewed in History Today.
