A new book exploring British organized crime by Professor Dick Hobbs from the Department of Sociology has just been published by Oxford University Press.

Based on research and interviews with robbers, dealers and criminal entrepreneurs, Lush Life: Constructing Organized Crime in the UK traces the history and policing of British organized crime and its precursors, focusing on areas of East London.

Featured on popular blog Spitalfields Life, Professor Hobbs’ book gives a fascinating insight into crime in Britain, examining careers of famous crime families such as the Krays and the Richardsons.
