01 May 2012: Professor Miriam Glucksmann named Academician

Professor Miriam Glucksmann has become the eighth Essex academic to be conferred Academician of the Academy of Social Sciences.

Nominated by the British Sociological Association, the award of Academician recognises Miriam's significant contribution to research in her field but also her contribution to social science more broadly.

For more than 30 years Miriam has researched the areas of work, employment and the division of labour, and is best known for her research on the centrality of gender, class and ethnicity to the ways in which labout, the economy and the market are structured, both historically and in the present day.
