10 March 2010: Essex academic gives prestigious 2010 Oxford Amnesty Lecture

Prof. Robin Blackburn  is to give one of the prestigious 2010 Oxford Amnesty Lectures. This series aims to inject some historical knowledge into the current debate about human rights and in 2010 takes its theme as "Self-Evident Truths? Human Rights and the Enlightenment". Prof. Blackburn will discuss "From Natural Rights to General Liberty: Slavery, Emancipation and the Origins of Human Rights" on Wednesday 10 March at 5.30pm in the Hall, Taylor Institution Library, St Giles, Oxford.
