 Eamonn Carrabine wiill be giving a keynote address at a symposium on Cities, Crime and Disorder: A Dialogue between Urban Studies and Criminology, 14-15 September at the Millenium Gallery, Sheffield. He has recently published a chapter on 'Representing the Prison' in Bennett, J.B. Crewe and Y. Jewkes (eds.) Handbook on Prisons (London, Routledge) and his forthcoming articles include a paper on 'Picture This: Criminology, Image and Narrative', in Crime, Media, Culture (August 2016) and 'Changing Fortunes: Criminology and the Sociological Condition', in Sociology (October, 2016).

Pam Cox has been elected as the new Chair of the Social History Society, one of Britain's 'learned societies'. She has just published a piece to mark the SHS's 40th anniversary in History Today. This term, Pam has taken part in a History and Policy event at KCL, a symposium on youth justice co-organised with the Children Society at Oxford Brookes, a public event at the V&A on 'London's Shop Girls' and a public history event at Royal Holloway's Bedford Centre for the History of Women. 

Isabel Crowhurst continues to co-ordinate a key COST Action initiative - 'Comparing prostitution policies in Europe'. It is currently featured as a top story on COST’s website.

Anna Sergi appeared on BBC Radio 3 Free Thinking recently talking about representations of the Sicilian mafia in connection with a new exhibition on Sicily at the British Museum. The program is available online. Anna also presented a guest lecture at the University of Pisa as part of their MA Analysis, Prevention and Control of Organised Crime. She will take over as Chair of the British Society of Criminology’s Early Career Researchers Network in July.

Nigel South is presenting a paper at the British Society of Criminology conference in Nottingham in July on: ‘Water, inequalities and injustice: social divisions, racism and colonialism—past and present’

Jackie Turton is presenting a paper at the upcoming British Society of Criminology conference. This will form part of a panel on ‘Motherhood and Crime’ organised by Emma Milne and also involving Pam Cox.
