Essex Nightline

Student Services Hub

Our team of advisers are based within your Student Services Hub and can provide information, advice and guidance on a range of topics from accommodation and funding to exam stress and wellbeing. Drop us a line or pay us a visit.

Nightline is a service run by students for the welfare of students – and we’re here to help you. The Nightline team at Colchester Campus is located at the back of the Keynes Tower (in the North Towers area) and our services include trained volunteers to discuss any problems you may have.

Although based in Colchester, all students are welcome to contact Nightline.

The Nightline service is open every night during term-time from 10pm to 8am. To use our anonymous and confidential listening service, you can:

  • E-listening service

    You can expect someone to answer your e-mail within 24 hours between the hours of 10pm and 8am.

  • Drop-in

    Drop by our friendly flat located in flat 1, round the back of Keynes Tower, North Campus for a variety of services including:

    • Confidential listening
    • Campbed hire
    • Emergency accommodation
    • Free tea and toast
    • Detox room
    • Information
    • Pregnancy tests (£1)
    • Panic alarms (£2)

  • Volunteer recruitment

    Our website, and Facebook and Twitter pages, will have details on when we are opening our volunteer recruitment. We usually hold two major drives; one in October and one in January. Keep an eye out for us on the squares!
