Colchester Campus Chaplaincy

What's on

Three students talking

We have an active programme of events in Colchester throughout the academic year, including regular Islamic, Anglican and Catholic services as well as a variety of society events including yoga, Bible study and prayer sessions.

The calm, friendly and supportive atmosphere of our Chaplaincy is a welcoming place for staff, students and the wider community to meet, interact and engage in a positive and peaceful manner.

The Chaplaincy offers two spaces for worship, prayer and quiet reflection:

  • a social space with kitchen area for reading, socialising and discussion
  • a quiet space for private prayer, meditation or reflection

A variety of regular services, meetings and events organised by our chaplains and faith representatives are held in MFC Space 1.

MFC Space 2 is available for each of the five Islamic daily prayers. In addition, the Chaplaincy facilitates the Islamic Society in the larger gathering of Friday (Jummah) prayers each week, by arranging a larger venue elsewhere on Colchester Campus.

The Students' Union also facilitates a number of religious student societies. If there isn't a group representing your faith, you could get involved with setting one up. For more details please contact the Students' Union via

Chaplain rota

If you'd like to speak to our Chaplains or find out more about their faith, you can visit the Chaplaincy Monday to Friday between 10am and 2pm. Please see the rota for full details of their availability throughout the Summer Term.

We've put together some guidelines that should be followed when using the Chaplaincy space.
