Essex's international student body is recognised in world rankings

The University’s international reputation in the social sciences has been reinforced with it placed in the Top 100 in the Times Higher Education’s World University Rankings in the social sciences.

Again our international outlook was recognised, with Essex in fifth place for this measure, and the highest placed UK university.

The Times Higher Education World University Rankings rate universities for teaching, research, citations, international outlook and industry income.

The University was ranked top in the UK for its research excellence in politics in the last national research assessment, the Research Excellence Framework. It was also awarded the only Regius Professorship in Political Science, an honour conferred by the Queen, recognising 50 years of excellence in research and education in politics at Essex.

The University’s international outlook was also recognised in the QS World Rankings, published in September, where Essex was ranked 5th most international university in the UK for staff and 11th most international student body.
