Essex’s global outlook stands out among world universities
Essex ranks highly for our international staff and students
The global outlook of the University of Essex continues to stand out in world university rankings, with the Times Higher Education placing the University in its top 10% for this measure.
International outlook considers the percentages of international staff and students as well as international co-authorship. The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2015-16 were published today, and Essex was ranked in the top 10% for international outlook.
Essex’s overall ranking in a band of universities between 301st and 350th in the world reinforces the University’s place in the top 2% of universities in the world.
The Times Higher Education obtained data from more than 1,000 of the world’s leading universities and ranked them for teaching and research quality, citations, international outlook and industry income.
The rankings follow the publication of the QS World Rankings earlier this month, which ranked Essex 303rd in the world, and The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide, which rated Essex 35th in the UK.
Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education) Professor Aletta Norval said: “Our global outlook is central to an Essex education, with our curriculum and our staff and student body providing the opportunity to experience the world in one place. This is supported by our extensive offer of work and study abroad opportunities with no additional tuition fees, and free language tuition for all.”
