The future of intelligent gaming at IGGI Symposium 2015

The next generation of digital games researchers, designers, developers and entrepreneurs will be sharing their ideas this week at the Intelligent Games and Game Intelligence (IGGI) Symposium 2015 being held at the University of Essex’s Colchester Campus.

The event has been organised by the IGGI Centre for Doctoral Training, a collaboration between the University of Essex; Goldsmiths, University of London; and the University of York which is funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC).

During the two day symposium IGGI students will be speaking about their research and pitching concepts while leading industry experts and academics will share their expertise on game design, development and user analysis.

The two keynote speakers are Steve Collins from leading mobile analytics company Swrve talking about optimizing mobile games and Gwaredd Mountain from Lionhead discussing tactical planning in genre-defining Fable Legends,

There will also be masterclasses from Adam Davis, Moving Picture; Piotr Andruszkiewicz, Creative Assembly; Philip Oliver and Anna Ljungberg, Radiant Worlds; and Mike Cook, Goldsmiths.

IGGI offers talented students a unique opportunity to undertake PhD research on embodied interaction, intelligent games, gamification and Artificial Intelligence in collaboration with 60 industrial games partners including Sony, Supermassive Games and Rebellion plus world-leading academics.

IGGI students are funded for four years and receive technical and transferable skills training while also gaining industry experience.

IGGI Symposium 2015 will be held in the stunning new Essex Business School building at the University of Essex’s Colchester Campus on Thursday 17 September and Friday 18 September.
