The University has been shortlisted in the prestigious Times Higher Education (THE) awards for the Most Improved Student Experience.

Up to 20,000 UK students were polled anonymously by student market research specialists Opinionpanel to rate the academic reputation, teaching, social life and facilities of their institutions.

Essex is shortlisted alongside six other universities and colleges including Queen Mary, University of London and the universities of Edinburgh and Sussex.

The awards, in 18 categories, attracted 600 entries from 137 UK higher education institutions. Winners will be announced on 15 October.
