The University of Essex edition of The 3rd Degree will be recorded as live in front of an audience in the Lakeside Theatre at the Colchester Campus. Book your place in the audience at: http://lakesidetheatre.org.uk/events/the-3rd-degree/
The 3rd Degree is recorded on location at a different university each week. Rounds vary from specialist to general knowledge, with quick-fire bell-and-buzzer rounds as well as individual questions. With the underlying rigour of a formal quiz it is a light-hearted quest to discover how students fare against their elders.
Essex academics taking part are Dr David Rush, Dr Rob Johns, and Christopher Walklett. They will be up against a student team consisting of second-year BA Film Studies and Literature student Sara Sioufi, third-year BA International Relations student Alessandro Georgiou, and third-year BA History and Literature student Thomas Barry.
The quiz is hosted by Steve Punt of Mock the Week and Horrible Histories, and is produced by David Tyler whose credits include Spitting Image and Not the Nine O’Clock News.
The event is being hosted at Essex as part of our 50th anniversary events programme.
The 3rd Degree will be recorded in the Lakeside Theatre from 6pm on 2 February. Attendance is free but tickets should be pre-booked online. Booking does not guarantee a seat. Doors will open at 5.30pm and seats will be allocated to people on the booking list on a first-come, first-served basis.
