East 15 celebrates lasting legacy of Littlewood
East 15 Acting School is celebrating the life of Joan Littlewood one of the most significant theatre directors of the 20th Century.
The work of Littlewood's Theatre Workshop company inspired the creation of East 15 Acting School. Theatre Workshop members Margaret Bury and Jean Newlove founded East 15 to share its unique approach to theatre.
To mark both Littlewood’s centenary year and the 50th Anniversary of the University of Essex, East 15 is hosting two talks to celebrate her life and work.
On Thursday 15 January, East 15 alumnus - one of its first graduate year - and Littlewood's successor as Artistic Director of the Theatre Royal, Stratford, Philip Hedley CBE will offer his personal perspective.
On Tuesday 20 January the foremost writer about her work and life, Professor Nadine Holdsworth will talk on Littlewood’s wider theatrical legacy.
Both events begin at 7.00pm at the Corbett Theatre at our Loughton Campus.
