This year, several Honorary Graduates were Essex alumni who have gone on to do incredible things since graduating. Our Honorary Graduates were chosen as they shared Essex values of pushing boundaries and challenging convention or for making an outstanding contribution to the work of the University.

This year's Honorary Graduates were: Dr John Ashdown-Hill, Lord Currie of Marylebone, John Elkington, Martha Lane Fox, Dr Jan Pinkava, Professor Colin Riordan and Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury.
