Our half-marathon team.

Congratulations to the fifty University runners who tackled the 13-mile challenge of the Colchester Half-Marathon yesterday to mark our 50th anniversary year. See photos from the event on our flickr page.

The University team of staff, students, alumni and friends aims to raise thousands of pounds for the town’s St Helena Hospice as our way of giving something back to the community which has supported us for 50 years. We’re also supporting the Hospice in memory of our former Registrar Dr Tony Rich, who was cared for there in the later stages of the cancer which took his life in 2012. Help us to raise more than £5,000.

And if you fancy joining us for your next challenge, the University is offering 50th anniversary scholarships to anyone born, educated or living in the county of Essex who starts a postgraduate degree with us in 2014. These entitle you to 25% fee discount.
