Students and young professionals wanting to find out more about law can attend a summer school at the University of Essex, thanks to an educational organisation founded by a current undergraduate.

Crowned Education will be running its first Summer Law School, in collaboration with the University’s School of Law, thanks to the initiative of student Stephanie Edughele, herself a final-year law student. The Summer Law School is aimed at sixth form and college students who have not studied law before.

Stephanie explains: ‘Working together with the University, we provide an ideal environment that encourages greater academic participation and maturity for students. Students are invited to be a part of campus life and sample courses taught by renowned Essex academics.’

The Summer School, which will be held at the Colchester Campus in July, will cover core subjects in the British legal system including the law of obligation, public law and an introduction to land law. It will involve lectures, interactive workshops, guest lectures and a final exam. There will also be social activities.

The School takes place between 20 and 23 July and is available as a residential or non-residential course. For further information see: www.crownededucation.co.uk.
