Visiting Professor John Gorrod of the School of Biological Sciences has received a prestigious award from Comenius University in Slovakia.

Professor Gorrod, who has a 12-year association with the University of Essex, was awarded a Silver Galen Medal of Comenius University, Bratislava, for services supporting the development of the scientific basis of pharmacy at the University.

He was presented with the award by the outgoing Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Comenius University, Professor Jan Kyselovic.
