University of Essex Choir performing at St Edmundsbury Cathedral

The University of Essex Choir will be performing Haydn’s masterpiece The Creation at one of the UK’s most famous cathedrals at 7pm on Saturday 26 January.

The 120-strong choir will join forces with the renowned London Handel Orchestra to the perform at St Edmundsbury Cathedral in Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk.

Students and staff from across the University are members of the choir, which also attracts singers from across Essex and Suffolk.

Musical Director Richard Cooke, a Grammy award winner, has worked in collaboration with many of the world’s leading conductors, and has himself conducted choirs and orchestras across Europe. Alongside his work with the University of Essex Choir, Richard is also the Musical Director of the Royal Choral Society in London.
