Chance to quiz experts
Experts from the world of finance gathering at the University of Essex are inviting members of the public to join in a panel-led discussion on the continuing global financial crisis.
This rare opportunity will come at the end of the fourth international Critical Finance Studies Conference which is being held at the University’s Colchester Campus 15-17 August. The panel will include Bhaskar Dasgupta, Senior Banking and Finance professional, Tony Greenham, Head of Finance and Business Researcher, New Economics Foundation, Alan Finlayson, Professor of Political and Social Theory at the University of East Anglia and Neil Kellard, Professor of Finance, Essex Business School.
The two-hour session which starts at 15.30 on 17 August, will discuss what created the financial crisis, what needs changing and how the experts think it can be put right.
Organised by Dr Ann-Christine Frandsen of Essex Business School’s Accounting Group, the conference, brings together academics from around the globe to look at ethical financial reforms which could lead to the end of the boom or bust economy.
Dr Frandsen added:”This is the first time we have had the opportunity to involve the public directly in the Critical Finance Studies Conference agenda. Our ambition is to spark off a debate involving the public with practitioner and academic insights, and so inspire new thoughts and possibilities for us all.”
