New Vice-Chancellor for Essex

Professor Anthony Forster begins his new role as Vice-Chancellor of the University of Essex today (Monday 6 August).

Political Scientist Professor Forster joins Essex from the University of Durham, where he was Deputy Vice-Chancellor.

He said: “It is an honour to be appointed Vice-Chancellor of Essex which has a global reputation for teaching and research and a very strong commitment to the region. I am really looking forward to meeting and working with students and staff and to leading Essex in further developing the University's profile and reputation.”

Professor Forster takes over from Professor Colin Riordan who was Vice-Chancellor from 2007 and has moved to Cardiff University.
