School of Law forges new European links
The School of Law has become an associate university in the European Master in Law and Policies of European Integration programme.
This means students studying for the prestigious European Master can spend their fourth semester at Essex after completing semesters at three of the programme's partner institutions the Autonomous University of Barcelona (AUB), University of Milan, University of Montpellier I and University of Szczecin.
The agreement was signed by leading expert on European integration Professor Teresa Freixes from AUB and Associate Dean, Student Mobility at Essex Dr Anthony Vickers in the presence of Professor Jose Carlos Remotti from AUB, Head of the School of Law Professor Geoff Gilbert and Dr David Marrani.
Dr Marrani said: "The new partnership will allow the students to come to us for one term of research during their last year of study. This is a high profile Masters degree and further develops our research links in relation to multilevel constitutionalism."
Two workshops have already been held at Essex and at Barcelona with their outcomes set to be published by EME and there are plans to make the workshops an annual event.
