The University’s flagship news magazine, Essex Quarterly has been shortlisted for a coveted Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) publications award.

The magazine, which aims to raise awareness of the University’s excellence in research, its international reach and its impact in the community, has been shortlisted in the External Newspaper or Magazine category of the CIPR PRide Awards 2011, East Anglia region.

Launched last year Essex Quarterly readers have already given the magazine the thumbs up commenting in a readership survey that it is “interesting and thought-provoking” and “very easy to read, well written, very appealing on the eye.”

The CIPR PRide Awards is the only awards scheme recognising top-quality public relations work carried out across the UK.

Winners in the East Anglia region will be announced on 9 November.
