Join in with Olympics family fun day

Colchester Campus

Have a go on the University's climbing wall

The University of Essex will be counting down to the London 2012 Olympics with a Family Fun Day offering a feast of sports and arts activities on Saturday 23 July.

The free events run from 11am to 4pm at Colchester Campus and are part of a national programme of events being organised as part of the London 2012 Open Weekend backed by the Cultural Olympiad programme.

Open to all ages and abilities, visitors will be able to try out frisbee golf on our 9-hole course, test their navigational skills and explore the sculptures and natural features of Wivenhoe Park, play rounders, have a go on our climbing wall, or take part in a rowing challenge.

Visitors are also invited to help create an art pentathlon throughout the day and join in with a variety of arts and crafts activities in the University’s gallery Art Exchange.

The Family Fun Day, supported by Essex County Council’s Essex Carrying the Flame scheme, is free and open to all. To find out more at visit: www.essex.ac.uk/events/funday.aspx.
