A “striking image of one of the largest and most impressive buildings” on the Colchester Campus walked away with top prize in the Love Essex photo competition this week.

Graduate Jian Feng’s photo of the Albert Sloman Library was described by the judges as an image that would “sit comfortably alongside any of our professional photos in our prospectuses”.

Run by the Marketing and Student Recruitment Office, Love Essex encouraged staff, students and alumni to submit images or film footage that captured their life at the University.

Marketing Assistant Chris Burge said: “We received many impressive entries from both the past and the present; from staff, students and alumni, and photos from different locations across Essex.”

Second prize went to Dr Philip Cozzolino from the Department of Psychology for his picture of jubilant Essex graduates throwing their graduation caps in the air.
Jian receives an Amazon gift voucher worth £100 along with a large print of his work.
