Students’ open day showcases robots and computer games
Colchester Campus
Final year engineering students at the University of Essex will be showcasing their software and hardware talents at an Open Day on Monday 21 March.
Their final year projects include a self-balancing two-wheeled robot, controlling a computer using hand gestures to a laptop Webcam, and a space trading game developed for mobile phones using the Android operating system.
The Open Day is held each year to allow final-year students in the School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering to demonstrate and discuss their project work. The students are encouraged to present their work so it is accessible to both experts and those without technical knowledge.
Students demonstrating are studying for degrees including Computer Systems Engineering, Electronic Engineering and Computer Games.
The Open Day runs from 2pm to 5pm on 21 March.
