Final-year students on East 15’s BA Technical Theatre Studies course invite industry guests, local schools and press to their graduation exhibition.
The exhibition, in East 15’s beautiful Corbett Theatre, is an excellent opportunity to see work by students on a course that involves stage management, lighting, sound, costume production, set construction, scenic painting, prop making and design.
Maura Guthrie, one of the graduating students taking part in this exhibition, explains: “I chose this course because I had been interested in lighting and sound for years and been involved in it since secondary school. I also liked the fact that, in the first year, you learnt everything so although I came to East 15 to learn about lights and sound, in the first year I also learnt about subjects like construction, costume, props, stage management, scenic painting. It is because of this that I found construction and props to be two of my favourite subjects!”
Alison Taylor, Deputy Director of BA Technical Theatre Studies, said: “People will get to see an exiting and diverse range of technical and creative work produced by our third year students in preparation for careers in various roles within the entertainment industry."
BA Technical Theatre Studies graduation exhibition takes place from 1pm to 9pm on Thursday 5 June and from 10am to 9pm on Friday 6 June.
