University seeks adult learners

Colchester Campus

To mark this year’s Adult Learners’ Week the University of Essex is going out into the local community to spread the word about adult learning.

The Admissions, Recruitment and Widening Participation teams will be staffing a stand in Culver Square in Colchester from 19 to 25 May promoting higher education opportunities for adult learners.

Current mature students will also be on hand to provide passers-by with information and advice on returning to education, student finance and support, and the range of courses on offer at the University.

Sarah Booth, Education Outreach Officer, explained: ‘Adult Learners’ Week is a celebration of the energy and inspiration that adults bring to their learning. It seeks to use the achievements of learners to inspire others to have a go, whether it be learning a new skill, learning for fun, or catching up on learning missed at school.’

The team will be in Culver Square between Monday 19 May and Sunday 25 May. If you cannot attend but would like to find out more about adult learning opportunities at the University of Essex contact Sarah Booth, telephone: 01206 873752 or e-mail: slboot@essex.ac.uk.
