The University of Essex choir is performing Mendelssohn's Paulus at Snape Maltings in Suffolk this weekend.

The renowned choir, which draws its members from staff and students at the University but also from Colchester and surrounding areas, is performing the choral work with the Essex Sinfonia on Saturday , May 1 at 7pm.

Soloists are Sophie Bevan, soprano; Louise Poole, mezzo soprano; Martin Hindmarsh, tenor andRobert Rice, bass.

The choir rehearses on Thursday evenings at the University and is always on the look out for new members. There are special bursaries for young people aged 14-23.
