Find out about postgraduate study

A Postgraduate Open Day this month at the University of Essex means you can find out more about postgraduate study opportunities in time to apply for entry this October.

The Postgraduate Open Day is at the Colchester Campus on Wednesday 17 March. The early evening timeslot of 4.30pm to 7.30pm means people currently in full-time employment can attend. Visitors will be able to speak to departmental representatives about postgraduate courses and research opportunities available this October, while admissions staff will be on hand to answer queries about applying for postgraduate study this year.

Victoria Bartholomew, from the University’s Marketing and Student Recruitment Office, explains: ‘The University offers an outstanding environment for postgraduate study and was rated ninth nationally for research excellence following the last Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) in December 2008. There is still time to apply for postgraduate study this autumn, and the Postgraduate Open Day is a great way for people to find out more.’

‘The University offers postgraduate study across the humanities, social sciences, science and engineering, and law and management, with programmes designed to equip students with the skills demanded by today’s employers in the highly competitive world of work.’

The Postgraduate Open Day, which takes place in the University’s state-of-the-art Ivor Crewe Lecture Hall, will include talks on topics such as life as a postgraduate at Essex, how to apply and how to finance further study.
