UK Data Archive’s Louise Corti has been shortlisted for the Woman in Data category at next month’s Open Data Awards 2016.

These Open Data Institute (ODI) awards recognise the outstanding achievements of individuals and businesses working with open data – both in the UK and worldwide.

The inaugural Women in Data Award will be presented this year to a female individual or group making waves in the world of data.
The winners will be announced at a special awards ceremony in London on 1 November, hosted by Essex Honorary Graduate Martha Lane Fox.

Louise, who is a director and heads the UK Data Service functional areas of Collections Development and Producer Relations, said: ”I am absolutely delighted and grateful to have been nominated for this award. I’m passionate about enabling the widest use of high quality data for research and learning.

“Having worked in academia for over 25 years, I have relished the opportunity to work with highly creative people from the Open Innovation community and at the ODI. They’ve enriched my perspective on the value of open data. I'd like to celebrate all women and girls around the world who love data!”
