Vice-Chancellor Professor Anthony Forster visited Shanghai, Nanjing, Xi’an and Guangzhou meeting university and business leaders during a 10-day visit to China.

Thanks to support from Essex International, Essex County Council’s international trade team, Professor Forster was able to network with businesses in Jiangsu Province.

He also received a fantastic reception from Chinese academics during visits to Southeast University in Nanjing, Northwest University in Xi’an and Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS) in Guangzhou.

Alongside these meetings he met students looking to study at the University of Essex at special events in Shanghai and Guangzhou.

The visit is part of a longer term strategy to nurture links with China across education and business.
