Students Staff

Your University, your views

At the University of Essex the views, ideas and feedback of our students are at the heart of what we do.

In the spring term each year, our undergraduate students are invited to participate either in the National Student Survey (NSS) or UK Engagement Survey (UKES). Please complete your details below, and you will be directed to the appropriate survey.

About you and your views

The time you take to offer feedback is hugely appreciated. We use your feedback – positive and developmental - to help make short and longer term improvements, both to your experience as a current student, but also for Essex students of the future.

As well as feedback and focus groups through the year, through one of our services on campus, within your department or as a member of the Students’ Union, we are also keen for your vital input in annual surveys which help the University in planning for the future to improve the experience for all our students.

Recent student feedback and ideas have resulted in improvements to student experience at your university. These include introducing anonymous marking across the University to make sure marking is fair. We’re working with the Students’ Union to give you more opportunities to feedback on your student experience and to make suggestions for improvement. We’ve also listened to the feedback of 1st year students in making improvements to Welcome, ensuring you get the information and induction you need as a new student, with a focus on a warm departmental welcome.
