Have you explored Essex Sport yet? Our Colchester Campus is home some incredible facilities from the World-class Essex Sport Arena, to climbing walls and outdoor pitches. With a variety of different student memberships available for you'll have an opportunity to get involved with all sorts of sporting activities on campus.


2. How do you like to spend your time?

When it comes to food and drink, you're coming to the right University. Whatever type of cuisine, or style of dining (formal table service, to street food) our Colchester Campus has it all.

Spread our across the 5 squares on campus you'll find everything you might need including our Thursday market, selling all manner of local food and drink produce.


2. What's your preference?

Did you know our Colchester Campus has an Art Gallery right here on campus? The Art Exchange hosts a variety of different exhibitions throughout the year and can be found right next door to the Library. Not only this, but Colchester Campus is also home to the Essex Collection of Art from Latin America. We also have the Lakeside theatre here on campus, and a Cinema too.


3. What is your idea of a fun night?

Home to the Human Rights Centre Essex has a long history of fighting for Social Justice and Change.

On 8 December 2020 the University joined many organisations around the world declaring a climate and ecological emergency and our dedicated Sustainability Team and Academics across the organisation actively work to make a difference to our world and the affects of climate change. 3. What's your idea of a fun evening?

The city of Colchester is ideally located just 50 miles North-East of London. It is near to the coast of East Anglia, on the border with Suffolk.

The city also benefits from good transport links to the surrounding counties on the South East coast of England and is just a 50 minute train ride to London Liverpool Street, and an even shorter journey to Stratford.

3. Movies or video games?

Set within the 220-acre award-winning beautiful parkland - Wivenhoe Park our Colchester Campus boosts range of plants and wildlife including some extraordinary and historic trees, this picturesque paradise can only be appreciated fully in person.

Our Green Exercise research project examines where, when, how and why Green Exercise brings health and well-being benefits, aims to understand who can benefit most from Green Exercise, and how it can be used as a means to drive behaviour change. Wivenhoe Park, and the nature that surrounds our Colchester Campus is the perfect location to embrace Green Exercise and utilise it's benefits
