Undergraduate pathways

Why study a pathway programme?

Our pathway programmes are ideal if you wish to study at university, but do not have the standard qualifications required to enter the first year of our undergraduate courses.

We work closely with our departments, schools and centres and our aim is to equip you with the necessary knowledge and academic skills to succeed in your future studies.

Progress to an undergraduate course

All our programmes consist of one year of full-time study. Successful completion of our International Foundation Programme or Year Zero pathway guarantees you entry to the first year of a degree course.

Our courses

International Foundation Programme

Our International Foundation Programme is designed for international students who need to supplement their high school studies and improve their English language skills. The course starts in January. You will study a language and academic skills module, in addition to modules relevant to your chosen area of study.

Degrees with a foundation year

Our degrees include a foundation year, known as Year Zero, followed by three or four years of undergraduate study. These courses are designed to help you improve your academic skills and subject-specific knowledge, and fully prepare you for undergraduate study and life at university. You will study modules relevant to your chosen degree, along with academic skills modules that enable you to succeed at undergraduate level.
