Digital Arts Festival Competition

As part of the Digital Arts Festival, we will be running a GIF creation competition that we would love all students and staff to take part in. These GIFs will embody the true essence of ‘digital art’ and ‘engaging the senses’ and there will be some very exciting prizes for the best original GIFs.

  • How to enter the GIF competition

Creating these little pieces of artwork will take you around 10-15 minutes, and will need to be shared on social media prior to the event so that we can pick the winners.

These easy to follow instructions should explain how everybody can take part, but if there are any questions, please feel free to contact us for more information.

    How to enter:

    1. Open a GIPHY account using www.giphy.com
    2. Click ‘create’ to start your own masterpiece
    3. Choose a photo, GIF, your own video or your favourite video from YouTube – *Extra points if your GIF relates to our ‘engaging the senses’ theme*
    4. Go wild with editing – use stickers, filters, text, change the speeds – make it unique
    5. Once you’re happy with your GIF, click ‘continue to upload’
    6. Make sure it’s public then click ‘upload to GIPHY’
    7. Your GIF is now complete!
    8. To enter into the competition, copy the ‘Short Link’ and send it to dafestschools@essex.ac.uk, we’ll share these on our social media pages and all entries will be projected across campus on the Digital Arts Festival day!
