The Big Bang @ the University of Essex

What is the Big Bang?

The national Big Bang programme is the largest celebration of science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) for young people in the UK. It was established by Engineering UK (EUK) in 2009.

We have delivered The Big Bang @ The University of Essex since 2013, hosting schools from across Essex, Suffolk and East London.

What does the day involve?

The Big Bang @ Essex is a one-day event for Year 9 students, who visit a range of workshops, our interactive STEM Marketplace and our headline show throughout the day.

When does it happen?

The Big Bang @ Essex 2019 will take place on Tuesday 26 March 2019. Booking will open in December – scroll down to find out how schools can register their interest now.

With Marketplace exhibitors including Medical Mavericks, the Institution of Civil Engineers, Leonardo, Affinity Water, the Royal Navy and academics from the University of Essex, as well as Simon Watt from Ready, Steady, Science! as our headline show, it was definitely one to remember.
