The aim of this course is to
(1) revise group data analysis techniques;
(2) Introduce data analysis techniques suitable for research in cognitive neuropsychology;
(3) to evaluate the problems and advantages associated with single case designs.
Lecture 1. Introduction. Probability distributions z, chi square, F, t.
Lecture 2. Effect size, Type I & II error and power, Power for t-test.
Lecture 3. Power for t-test. ANOVA revision. Power for one-way designs.
Lecture 4. Contrast analysis.
Lecture 5. Revision factorial ANOVA, Between-Ss factorial design with unequal sample sizes, revision repeated and mixed designs
Lecture 6-10. The rationale and methodology of single case studies in cognitive neuropsychological research. The advantages of a case series approach. Statistical techniques in single case studies. Comparison of data from a single case and a group of controls.
