Module description

The module is co-ordinated by Dr Rick O'Gorman to whom queries should be addressed.

The modules:
1. provide opportunities to reflect upon your strengths and weaknesses and decide upon your personal goals and career aspirations
2. help you identify the steps required to reach those goals
3. introduce opportunities and resources to achieve your goals

Whilst there will be time spent in the lecture theatre and working in small groups, you are also expected to undertake self-directed activity. We don't write your CV for you! Engagement with these careers and employability modules will provide you with the knowledge and confidence to pursue your chosen career and goals.

This Year 1 module will:
1. introduce employability and career planning
2. familiarize you with the resources available to assist your career development
3. devleop a personal career profile and reflect on your strengths and weaknesses.

Learning and teaching methods

The module will comprise a series of timetabled sessions run and administered collaboratively by staff from the Department of Psychology and from the Employability and Careers Centre, and sessions with guest speakers.
